Environmental Compliance

IEA has completed the installation of Diesel Oxidation Catalyst systems (DOCs) on its fleet of standby diesel generators. The catalyst systems will provide for a 90% reduction in carbon monoxide and other pollutants from the diesel exhaust. The installation of these units is in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations (RICE/NESHAP).

Beginning in 2012, company engineers and subcontractors worked on installing DOCs on 49 units, located at 19 different locations. Each DOC required the installation of a new silencer/catalyst unit, along with the required continuous monitoring equipment. Environmental performance testing was also performed on each unit in accordance with EPA rules.

IEA keeps meticulous records of monitored emissions, engine run-time, and environmental testing to ensure our customers maintain environmental compliance at all times.
