AUGUST 2012—GOING GREEN: SOLAR PROJECT STARTUP

IEA has completed the installation of its first solar installation on a Company building on 12th Avenue in Marion, Iowa. The installation consists of twelve SolarWorld SW240 solar panels arranged in a fixed 2 by 6 array. Each panel’s output is controlled by an Enphase Micro Inverter. The total nameplate output of the array is 2.88 kilowatts. The system is monitored by an Enphase Communications gateway and its status can be viewed at any time on a website.

The project is expected to generate approximately 3,000 kWh annually and will be used to offset the electricity used to maintain the generators installed at the site.
